1. How do I find the chairseat I need?
You don't - we do. Since 1968 we have made over 800 different models of chairseats, and have a vast database of technical drawings. If you are a manufacturer you send us a simple drawing with measurements of the seat you need, the material you want, and the quantity. We'll check our database and send you the technical drawing of the model or the closest thing. Very often, with a small adaptation in production, you can use one of our models. The most economic solution for you.
If it is a very particular model which has to be custom made, depending on the difficulty we may need your sample or mould.
If you are looking for replacement seats please send us your worn or damaged seat, and we will inform you about availability and pricing.
2. What is the delivery time?
Rodeka keeps an ample stock of standard models in our warehouse in Holland. We can make immediate deliveries if your chairseat is a stock model.
If we are temporarily sold out, or if you need a custom made model, delivery is 2 1/2 to 4 months. Rodeka insists on fresh production in our factories, so the frames and ropes will have to be made, and the seats handwoven.
3. Handmade - by whom?
Rodeka has not ever and will not ever support child or forced labour for products. We visit our selected factories regularly and personally, and assure you that our goods are made by craftsmen and craftswomen - willingly!
4. How long does a chairseat last?
As Rodeka is personally involved in the production, we make sure the wooden frames are sufficiently strong to ensure that there will be no breakage through normal usage. Further we ensure that materials are fresh and that the weaving is tight by delivery.
Especially for seagrass, we advise a very light spraying with normal water, when the seat feels dry and the weaving is looser. The seagrass will absorb the moisture and become tighter as if by magic. Not really - it is grass and it dries out. Keeping it a bit moist also helps prevent breakage.
Further the materials are strong enough to last - it has been used for centuries for seating so proven through time.
